A Source of Healthy Fatty Acids: Omega-3, Omega-6 & Omega-9
  • Excellent source of essential fatty acids
  • Supports cardiovascular health
  • Help maintain positive mood
  • No fishy after taste

Flax seed oil provides a concentrated source of the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is precursor to omega-3 fatty acids, including EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). It also provides linoleic acid (LA, omega-6) and oleic acid (omega-9) in balanced amounts.

Alpha-linolenic acid has both anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative effects to help maintain a healthy heart.1 In fact, a 2011 animal study indicated that it could even help mitigate the negative effects of a diet high in trans-fats.2

DHA is the primary fatty acid found in the brain. Research has linked higher levels of DHA to adequate intake of alpha-linolenic acid and a decrease in depressive-like symptoms throughout aging.3
