Vitamin B-Complex

Sustained Release Tablets for Maximum Bioavailability

Supplementation with B-Complex has been shown to:

  • Reduce biological effects of air pollution
  • Reduce homocysteine levels in the blood
  • Minimize stress and anxiety
  • Support healthy circulatory function
  • Enhance energy production

Vitamin B is actually a group of distinct nutrients that have similar functions and are often found in the same foods. Together, folic acid and B-12 help protect memory function in distressed older adults. One clinical trial concluded that long term daily supplementation of folic acid + B-12 improved memory performance after 24 months.10

Deficiencies in various B vitamins can contribute to: tiredness, nervousness, irritability, occasional insomnia, and dizziness.2 Certain prescription drugs, such as antidepressants, monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors and anticancer drugs may lower blood levels of B6 and can cause complications.

A new clinical study (2017) showed that vitamin B supplements can reduce the effects of toxin exposure on cardiovascular health. Study participants experienced almost a complete reversal of negative effects on their cardiovascular and immune systems, weakening the effects of air pollution on heart rate by 150 percent, total white blood count by 139 percent, and lymphocyte count by 106 percent.11

B Vitamins have been shown in some studies to lower homocysteine levels as much as 30% in elderly individuals with elevated levels and have been shown to help maintain cognitive health.9

B-complex vitamins have many important overall functions:1,6

  • Essential for energy production
  • DNA synthesis and proper cell function
  • Facilitate methylation
  • Important for proper digestive tract function
  • Promote healthy nerves, hair, skin, and eyes
  • Boost immune system function
  • Help reduce physical and emotional stress and promote relaxation

Vitamin B deficiency is more common in the elderly, vegans and lower income families that can be unable to afford adequate intakes of fruit and vegetables.3

TRANSCEND's B-Complex 100 contains a balance of 11 B Vitamins. The proper balance usually includes equal amounts of B1, B2, B3, B6, choline, inositol, pantothenic acid, and PABA, and equal smaller amounts of B12, folic acid, and biotin. It is important that the formula includes a balanced amount of each nutrient to avoid competition for absorption of one vitamin over another in the intestines.

B vitamins are water-soluble and are not stored by the body, so we need to take in these nutrients on a daily basis.4 With age, many people experience a decreased absorption of B vitamins. Sustained release tablets are designed for better bioavailability because they release nutrients over time, giving the body a better chance to absorb the vitamins instead of flushing them through the system quickly.

Vegetarian: There are several key nutrients that are not usually plentiful in a vegetarian diet. New research indicates that vegetarians, and especially vegans, have an increased risk of heart disease because of a dietary tendency to inadequate intake of omega-3 and vitamin B12.8

The B vitamins have a wide margin of safety and usage rarely causes toxicity. TRANSCEND recommends B vitamins to help maintain overall health and to promote longevity.
