Digestive enzymes help break down the food you eat into components that your body can use. As we age, our bodies produce enzymes more slowly, resulting in lower enzyme levels. Diet is another major cause of low levels²- fast food, processed foods and excesses of sugar or fat make the body work harder and use more enzymes in digestion. Cell damage caused by stress, illness, environmental pollution and free radicals results in the use of extra enzymes to repair the cells and keep the immune system healthy.

Low or imbalanced levels of digestive enzymes create toxicity in the body from the waste of incomplete digestion. This pollution, in turn, encourages disease. All three classes of digestive enzymes are included: proteolytic enzymes (to digest protein), lipases (to digest fat), and amylases (to digest carbohydrates). This formulation helps maintain healthy intestinal flora.
